Asset | SBIT was founded in 1984 by ten enthusiastic students of information management and has since grown to roughly 1650 members. Asset | SBIT joined the faculty association Asset Tilburg in 2008.
Asset | SBIT is the study association for all students studying Business Economics (BE) or Information Management (IM) at the Tilburg University and all others interested in this field. During the Master Information Management, students examine how IT can be used to enhance strategic, tactical and operational business objectives. Within this study, a link is made between business and IT.
Asset | SBIT provides its members with career orientation, study support and informal events. Career orientation is offered by providing our members with the possibility to join company events. During these events, students get the unique opportunity to feel the atmosphere of a company and see what it would be like to work there. A lot of our members thus find their thesis internship or job through these events. We also provide a good overview of internships and starter position from which students can choose on our new career platform. Study support is offered by providing our members with summaries, thesis sessions, bachelor and master thesis examples and guidance documents. In order to make sure that our members have sufficient possibilities to relax between all the studying and exams, we organize several informal events. For example, each Thursday we have an afternoon drink at rooms of Asset | SBIT (E1.16 & E1.17) where the first drink is for free. Besides this we also organize a monthly drink at our go to pub Café de Boekanier. Furthermore we are present at several great “cantussen”, student parties and events. These events also provide a great opportunity for fellow students to get to know each other.
We also offer two big case days, in which students are challenged with a FinTech or a Big Data case. In these case days we work together with other departments within Asset to offer a large event for students and partners to participate. With each of these case days we combine students from the different studies to provide each group with all of the necessary knowledge solve the case.
